Motherland of braided rugs is Orient. Many countries in the East produce carpets.
Turkey and China are the best among countries – producers of braided rugs.
All states which developed under the power of East have tradition of braided rugs weaving. Balkan states, Egypt, and countries of Northern Africa - Tunis and Marocco are involved in process of making braided rugs.
Braided rugs can be distinguished from the other carpets from the first sight. Fabrics for the base of braided rugs are weaved from nodules in original way. Also special threads are used to weave high quality rug.
Braided rugs are classified by the type of these nodules. Persian, Turkish, Tibetan and Spanish nodules are the best known among them.
Braided rugs made by people of different nation vary in style, color and sizes. In the old times they were made by peasants in small workshops. Nowadays production on the factories is developed.
Two types of paints are used for dying braided rugs. These paints differ by the method of their preparing. Properties of animal and plant extracts are used for natural paints production. Chemical industry developed highly in the last years, so many new methods of making artificial paints appeared.
